What a Tea Length Dress Is

Most of us have heard of the different names that dresses have been given over the years, but one dress that you may not have heard of before is tea length dresses Now you are probably asking yourself what are tea length dresses, well it is a dress that falls above the ankle and below the knee. The tea length dress varies in style at the top and then falls between the bottom of the knee and calf.

Tea length formal dresses were first introduced and were tea length formal dresses but this did not mean that this type of dress could not be worn at different types of occasions, women wore these dresses at garden parties, at work and also at weddings, the other things that enabled these dresses to be so versatile was the different accessories and shoes that women would choose to go with it. If you want to be absolutely correct in what a tea length dress is then it has to fall nearly to the bottom of the calf. In today's fashion that would be a cocktail dress, as these all tend to fall below the knee.

So next time you go out looking for a tea length dress remember that it must fall just above the ankle but below the knee. The great thing about tea length dresses is that they can be worn at events in the summer and especially events that are outside, including weddings and garden parties, you can also wear them at work if you so wish to. But it doesn't have to stop there if you have a tea length dress which is made of a heavier type of material you can also wear them in the autumn. The really great thing about these dresses is that you can see your shoes, and once again you can wear most types of shoes with them, but the best shoes to wear are shoes with heels.
